Meet And Greet Tables Produce Money, Connections

“The opportunity to put KittyCorner in front of so many people is priceless,” says Liverpool cat rescue co-founder Deb Young. “We can introduce our rescue and rehoming organization to so many people. It’s a great opportunity to publicize our efforts.”

“Having such helpful and caring neighbors here in the plaza is a great help to us.” Brittney Benedict from food scarcity non-profit Erin’s Angels chimes in. “Our fans and followers can drop off recyclable bottles and cans, making space in their homes and offices, and the families we serve reap the benefits.”

“It means a lot to our business and staff to be able to support these local service organizations,” says Can Make Money Redemption manager Margie Lambert. “We’re able to collect for food pantries, churches, fire departments, animal rescue organizations, sports teams and booster clubs. . . all kinds of needy groups in the area.”

Recently, Friends Forever Animal Shelter had a table at Can Make Money, and took in $143 in just four hours.

“That’s two thousand, eight hundred and sixty bottles and cans,” says Friends Forever volunteer Diane. “Dozens of folks donated so much while we were here. Not only does the shelter benefit, but so does the environment, and the local economy. Our services benefit the animals of Oswego County, and we’ll put the donated funds to good use in the area as well.”

Can Make Money Redemption is a collection point for all legal NY State recyclable cans and bottles. They’re located in the 3 Rivers Plaza on Route 57 in Phoenix. Hours and directions can be found on their website at CanMakeMoneyRedemption.com .
