Recently, one of our non-profit donation partners picked up $25 in cash for the month. At five cents per container, that’s a total of 500 containers that people had donated to them during the month.
But, what is the impact of turning in those bottles to Can Make Money Redemption? Whom does it effect, and how? There are six immediate impacts.
- 500 bottles is a large number. That’s about 6 large garbage bags full, which takes up a lot of room in your house or garage. By returning them, you immediately get that space back.
- Recycling bottles and cans removes a significant amount of possible trash from roadsides, and from potentially moving down rivers and streams into the world’s oceans.
- The cans and bottles we receive are recycled into new beverage containers, as well as other useful items, like fleece shirts.
- You can choose to keep the money we pay you. In addition to more space, you would get $25 in your pocket!
- You could choose instead to donate to one of our donation partners. Not only does removing plastic from the environment keep from harming animals, several of our non-profit partners work with animals, and the money donated to them goes to actually helping them. These include donkeys, cats, horses, and other animals.
- Several of our donation partners are working to feed needy folks right here in our community! This includes a food pantry, a church, and our neighbor here in the plaza whose mandate is to end childhood hunger in our county
So remember, visiting CMMR isn’t just about putting a smile on your face and money in your pocket. By turning in bottles and cans, you’re helping local animals and people! Please, tell your friends and neighbors about us and encourage them to bring their returnables here.
